Artur Fischer is born in 1919 in Tumlingen. In 1948, just barely 29 years old, he founds his own company.
In order to take a picture of his daughter in his dark attic apartment, he develops a flash unit for
cameras in no time. The big breakthrough comes 10 years later with the sensational invention of the straddling dowel
and in 1965 he applies for the patent for the legendary fischertechnik design building set. In spite of his more
than 1000 patents, he continually searched for an invention that would make the hearts of big and small children happy.
